The Municipality of Bucharest, through CREART, announces the opening of the “Bucharest Opera Christmas Market” on December 6, on the esplanade of the National Opera of Bucharest.
The market will complement the events organized by the Municipality, which transform Bucharest into the Capital of the Winter Holidays until December 28, 2025.
Organized by the Bucharest City Hall through CREART – the Center for Creation, Art and Tradition of the Municipality of Bucharest, in partnership with the National Opera of Bucharest, the Bucharest Opera Christmas Market turns the Opera’s esplanade into a festive space where music and refined decorations create a unique cultural experience. Market chalets will offer culinary delights and host workshops for children, while a thematically decorated Christmas tree will complete the festive atmosphere. The Christmas Market scenography is designed by set designer Dragoș Buhagiar, with assistant set designer Vladimir Iuganu, both for Constitution Square and for the National Opera esplanade.
The Bucharest Opera Christmas Market introduces an expanded program of events, concerts, and activities, designed to transform the area in front of the Opera into a space dedicated to the winter holidays. Bucharest residents and tourists alike will enjoy concerts performed by some of the most beloved artists of the moment. The stage program on the Opera esplanade includes concerts, recitals, and classical music performances, including productions from the repertoire of the National Opera of Bucharest, live broadcasts of Opera performances, gourmet areas, chalets with unique gifts, creative workshops, and festive decorations that contribute to a spectacular visual setting.
The market opens with an energetic weekend full of special events on December 6 and 7, 2025.
